Enjoying God's Creation

None of this evolved or came about by chance. God made this great playground!

Here are the kids going through the Great Stone Door yesterday, and enjoying a hike and a swim today. We re-enacted The Pilgrim's Progress while walking down the trails.

  2. Blaine, I thought you might enjoy the photos. The subjects and surroundings make it impossible to get a bad shot. BTW, my son chooses his own wardrobe! Enjoyed your recent posts but couldn't comment from the Droid.

  3. The place looks gorgeous, Derek. I've never been there, but it looks like a place I'd love. Have any of you done any rappelling on the trip?

  4. Barry,

We were in between Chattanooga and Nashville, off I-24 near Monteagle, TN. The various parks throughout the region are part the South Cumberland Recreational Area. They do allow rappelling some areas, but it's mostly restricted, and we are not the rappelling types anyhow. My 72-year-old Father-in-law and my 62-year-old Mother-in-law did go on several 2-3 mile hikes with us. In consideration of their age, my bad back and my wife's bad knees, we did as much trekking as we possibly could. Swimming in front of the waterfall was the best part, but it was FREEZING cold.

    Blessings,
    Derek
