1. Nothing that is sinful is needed or necessary (i.e., we never "need" what is sinful)
2. Everything that is truly needed by us is good and is graciously given to us from God.
3. God, in His abundant grace, gives us good things far in excess of what we need.
4. God, in His super-abundant grace, gives us the one thing we need most: Himself. Yet this most needed thing is an inexhaustible and incomprehensible treasure that can only be apprehended gradually and experienced in measured doses.
4. We, in our sin, pursue what we do not need instead of pursuing more of what we need most: God Himself. And in our sin we can even misuse the good things that God gave us in corrupt and sinful ways.
5. Grace and gratitude purify us and redeem the good gifts we would otherwise corrupt through our sin.
6. Jesus secures that grace and gratitude for us and cultivates them within us so that we express His goodness
